Who We Are
Kain started his masonry career with an underlying passion for rocks, and an overlaying passion for the Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley.
Kain arrived in Gunnison in 1998 to attend Western State College, pursuing a degree in Geology. In those first years he discovered the quality of people in the valley, the unique quality of life here, and grew an immense love for the community. Living in the mountains has always felt like home.
After a career in professional downhill mountain bike racing, Kain began a family and found his calling: an opportunity to stay in the valley and embrace his passion for rocks and his willingness for hard work. He worked under a Master Mason and eventually formed Crested Butte Masonry in 2011.
In the years since, Crested Butte Masonry has become the premier masonry contractor for discerning clients who are looking for the absolute best in custom stonework.
